As I am editing and cataloging photos, I came across these from Florence that I wanted to share. "La Pieta", a copy in the Santo Spirito church in Florence was sculpted by Giovanni Lippi. The church is located across the Ponte Vecchio bridge and off a small street past the Pitti Palace. Also we went to San Croce church, where a monument is dedicated to Michealangelo designed by Giorgio Vasari.

As we were walking through the streets of Florence, we cam across this young artist who was drawing old master copies with pastels.

Legend has it that back in the Renaissance times, farmers would come to the market and find a fountain of the wild boar. The custom was that if they threw money into the fountain and it went down the drain, they would have a prosperous crop. So my husband threw a coin and if legend is true, we will not be having any prosperous crops.

More images to come randomly, now I am getting ready to paint.
