Preparing for the Week

Time consuming necessities that help me get into the painting spirit and process. I am ready to begin preparing the panels for wax.

Fun to see you getting prepared for the wax. It's been too hot for me so it's acrylic again for a time until winter sets.

It is a lot of work, but it comes out much cheaper this way. I did buy ready made colors from R&F anf Fine Art Store, but the medium, I just made myself along with the panels. Way too expensive to have the panels shipped here. I just go to Home Depot and by 1x2's redwood strips and panels that I cut to size. I understand about the heat. At least here, it never gets above 100.

Did you ever find an answer to your question on the R & F forum regarding thinning your oils wth wax??? I am curious also. But I have read somewhere that you need to keep the ratio of oil to wax 30%. I just need to try it and see how much I can get away with. Good to hear from you and congratulations on your sale. That is always a nice surprise.
